Episode 5 - Can't we just all get along (Coop Games)

Episode 5 is out for consumption and it is all about Coop games, one of our favorite style of games.
  • In the first 5 minutes, we don't jump into Coop games so don't be confused, we talk about our gaming experience with Twilight Imperium (00:00)
  • We then talk about a whole bunch of coop games that we have played or would like to play going from those we consider intro (Forbidden Island, Flash Point) up to the hard core (Arkham Horror) (05:01)
  • In Casual Corner, we talk about Pandemic. We love this game and it shows. We mention the new release and below are the images to help you understand the reference. (30:10)

And sometimes we get confused between actors, but it is understandable, see they look the same.

  1. Great job, you guys! One things to say...

    SOLO PLAY!
Another cool aspect of CoOp games is solo play! I know this 'cast is about introducing people to the hobby and connecting with others; and that is at the CORE of great gaming...
BUT, sometimes after the kids are in bed it's nice to be able to play a favorite game all by my lonesome. Not all CoOp games have this capability, but Arkham Horror, Elder Sign, Lord of the Rings LCG, etc. have some great solo play capability that further expands the playability of the game.
What about Pandemic?... could it play solo?

...and a very neat CoOp that I didn't hear mentioned is Red November; a crazy game about a disaster-prone nuclear sub manned by gnomes. Fun and stressful.

  2. Appreciate that and you are right, solo play is one thing that we should have mentioned about these games. Pandemic not so much, mostly because the functions of the various people make the game doable, so only be one of the functions would probably not work. I find Pandemic to most enjoyable with 4 people playing. Never tried Elder Sign solo, have to give it a chance.

Appreciate the shout out for Red November, forgot to mention it, but have read the reviews but never gotten to play it. If you got it, bring it and we need to play.
